LDG Contracts setting the standards after 30 years

LDG Contracts, one of the North West’s largest window system design, fabrication and installation companies, and part of The Lancashire Double Glazing Group, is still setting the standards after 30 years for the North West glazing industry and is still the only aluminium window specialist on the Fylde Coast.

The LDG group of companies began in 1978 and celebrated its 30th birthday last year with the news that even after 30 years, no other window fabrication company in the area has come close to providing the range, depth and quality of services that LDG Contracts has been delivering, uninterrupted, to businesses and homeowners in the region since 1978. This is even more important in today’s economic climate because when a company goes into liquidation, any guarantees provided may no longer be valid; a problem not encountered at longstanding LDG contracts.

LDG Contracts has seen many economic changes over the years including the recessions of 1980, 1990 and the current downturn which officially started in 2008 as well as the growth years in the construction industry of the late 1980’s and the mid 1990’s. One constant throughout these economic cycles has been LDG Contracts ability to win and deliver high quality commercial contracts which has steered the group through the worst of any economic downturns and has delivered an even stronger company as a result.

Plans are now in place at The LDG Group to invest further this year to help reinforce the company’s position as the regions leading window fabrication company with the news that the company is launching a range of new products including commercial windbreaks, an aluminium/wood composite system and the unveiling of a new powder coating plant that’s currently getting installed at LDG Group manufacturing site facility on Havelock Street, Preston.

LDG Contracts ability to provide a professional and quality service no matter what the economic climate has resulted in the company building commercial links with most of the major construction companies and government funded organisations that operate in the North West including Lancashire County Council, Lancashire Fire and Rescue, F Parkinson ltd, John Turner, Carefoot PLC and Conlon to name but a few.

Bill Forsyth Managing Director LDG Contracts said:

“There is no denying we are in tough economic times but I think the fact that we are a constant presence and have been so for 30 years through other difficult times means that people have grown to trust us and know that we have the depth of resources to deliver the most demanding contract no matter how much pressure the industry in general is under” Bill continues “We are also a company that believes in continual investment, be it in personnel, marketing, products or manufacturing which I think gives us more of an advantage in lean times than in actually does in times of accelerated growth”.

LDG Contracts is the trading name of Raymond Wood Commercial and part the LDG Group based in Preston – market leaders in the design fabrication and installation of aluminium and PVCu, window systems, curtain walling and entrance systems, shop fronts and patent glazing and currently employs over 160 staff and has its own 60,000 sq feet manufacturing facility.

The LDG Group was established in 1994 following the successful merger of Lancashire Double Glazing and Raymond Wood Commercial and has successfully traded in aluminum windows and doors since 1978. LDG Contracts employ a wealth of experienced personnel to assist and manage the most complex of jobs including 2 full-time surveyors, 3 contract managers, technical director, production director, AutoCAD department, quality manager, 3 sales estimators and a full service department.
